This begins the blog for the 2008 Mission trip to Saltillo, Mexico. We departed this morning around 7:30a.m. after organizing into teams and joining with the parents in a circle of prayer.
We had an uneventful drive to Detroit where Northwest Airlines made our check in as smooth as Brian and I have ever seen. Even going through T.S.A. went smoothly. God provides!!!
A few glitches, like a 45 minute flight delay and the typical hassles of renting 5 vans didn’t shake our spirits, just made us a little late to McAllen.
As I write, God is providing; The seminary we stayed at on our last visit was not available when we finalized our trip plans. The plan then was to stay at one of the churches we would work at. Not a good logistical situation, 2 showers for 52 people / moving our bedding-clothes every day, to name a few. We just received a call that the group that had reserved the seminary cancelled and we will be able to make use of it! Yeah God !!!!!!!
We are finishing off the day by eating the “real deal” Mexican food that Merge is providing at our hotel when we arrive.
